2 more suspects arrested over Christmas Eve shooting in UK

LONDON (AA) - The UK police on Wednesday arrested two more suspects in connection with the shooting on Christmas Eve that led to the death of a 26-year-old woman.

A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman from Wirral, have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Elle Edwards, the Merseyside Police department said in a statement.

On Dec. 24, Edwards was shot outside a pub in Wallasey, Wirral, located between Liverpool and North Wales.

The police said that the male suspect was arrested following inquiries in mid-Wales, while the female suspect was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

"Both have been taken to police stations for questioning," the police added.

Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs said that the number of arrests in connection with the death has risen to five.
