DIYARBAKIR, TURKEY (AA) - Two PKK terrorists were apprehended Friday over Monday's car bomb attack that hit Turkey's southeast, killing three civilians, including a child, and five police officers.
The Diyarbakir Governor’s Office said in a statement that two terrorists involved in the attack were apprehended and one vehicle that was used in the attack was seized.
Thirty-seven people, including seven police officers, were wounded in the attack on the Martyr Chief of Police Murat Ucar Regional Traffic Check Station along the Diyarbakir-Batman highway.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists killed or neutralized in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
