2 PKK terrorists killed in SE Turkey

HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - Turkish forces killed two PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey, the local governor's office said on Wednesday.

According to the statement from the Hakkari governor's office, Turkish forces on Tuesday responded to shots fired at a border command post in the Cukurca district, which neighbors Iraq.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
