ANKARA (AA) - France kept three of its regions on the highest orange-level weather alert due to Storm Gerard that hit the country on Monday, local media reported.
French weather service Meteo France had warned in an earlier statement against dangerous weather, including heavy rainfall, possible floods, and high winds.
While initially, more than 26 departments were on orange alert in the morning, according to broadcaster TF1, only three were left in the afternoon, when the Meteo France announced that the storm had started to "leave and seems to attenuate gradually."
Public energy supplier Enedis announced power outages for 75,000 customers in the morning, particularly in the northern and western parts of the country, TF1 reported.
