ISLAMABAD (AA) – At least three people were killed and 13 others were injured in a blast near a hotel in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Wednesday.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran confirmed the incident, stating that the explosion took place near a hotel in the third precinct of Kabul and that three people were killed and 13 others were wounded. A security team has arrived on the scene, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion, he added in a statement.
Video footages on social media show locals transporting victims of the blast to hospitals.
Earlier this month, at least six people were killed, including two Russian Embassy staffers, in a bombing near the mission's office in the city.
Later, the terrorist group ISIS/Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.
The terror group has recently intensified attacks in different parts of the country, particularly targeting pro-Taliban clerics.
