3 killed, including 1 child, by Russian missiles in eastern Ukraine

ANKARA (AA) — At least three civilians, including a child, were reported killed in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday after a Russian missile strike that left 42 others injured.

"As of 10:00 p.m. (1900GMT), three civilians were killed in Russia's attack on Kramatorsk, including a child, and 42 injured," said a statement by Ukrainian police on Telegram, according to the news agency Ukrinform.

An official with the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko said on Telegram that three foreigners were among those injured in the strike, which took place at about 8 p.m. local time.

It was reported that more victims may be trapped under the rubble and that a rescue operation was underway.

"This is another deliberate attack on civilians, another war crime committed by Russians on our land. Russia is a terrorist state," Kyrylenko stressed.

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022, has killed over 9,000 civilians and wounded more than 15,700, according to the latest UN figures.
