3 PKK terrorists 'neutralized' in SE Turkey

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish security forces have neutralized at least three PKK terrorists in southeastern Sirnak province, a statement said on Friday.

Turkish General Staff shared information about nationwide operations conducted on Thursday.

According to the statement, the terrorists were detected by reconnaissance equipment in Uludere district of Sirnak province.

In another operation, the security forces recovered two improvised explosive devices, which were later destroyed in a controlled blast, while one handheld radio was also seized in Balveren town in the province.

In eastern Tunceli province, a Kalashnikov and 30 cartridges were recovered in Hozat district.

More than 1,200 victims, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives in PKK attacks in Turkey since the terror group resumed its decades-old campaign against in July 2015.

According to Turkey's defense minister, over 10,000 terrorists have been killed in security operations since July 2015.
