KUWAIT (AA) - Kuwait's deputy prime minister said Wednesday the support pledged for Iraq's Reconstruction Project has reached $30 billion.

Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah, also Kuwait's secretary of foreign affairs, made the remarks during his speech at the conclusion of the Conference for Reconstructing Iraq.

The conference saw the participation of 2,300 companies and international institutions from more than 70 countries.

"This amount of money is by no means sufficient," said Iraqi Foreign Affairs Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafri. "But most countries have stood with us and we are thankful. This is a spiritual treasure for us."

$88.2 billion are required for the reconstruction of Iraq's western and northern regions reclaimed from Daesh terror organization, according to Iraqi officials.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Turkey will lend $5 billion for Iraq's reconstruction.
