Security forces on patrol near Afghan border when bomb blows up, killing one security officer and 3 civilians, says official

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) - At least four people, including one security officer, were killed and three others wounded on Saturday by a roadside explosion in northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border, a local official said.
The improvised explosive device (IED) in the Tirah valley of Khyber Agency blew up when security personnel were on routine patrol, killing one security officer and wounding three, while also killing three civilians, Irshad Khan, assistant political agent, told Anadolu Agency in a telephone interview.
He said that soon after the explosion, security forces cordoned off the area while a search is underway to apprehended the culprits.
The Tirah valley is one of the strategic points bordering Afghanistan’s Nangrahar province, considering a stronghold of Daesh militants.
