4 killed in SW Pakistan blast

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - At least four people were killed and over two dozens injured in an explosion outside a police station in southwest Pakistan on Tuesday evening, an official said.

The blast - latest in a series of similar incidents - took place in the parking lot of the city police station in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.

Provincial home minister Mir Zia Langov told Anadolu Agency that 4 people were killed and 26 injured, including policemen in the terrorist attack, which apparently targeted the police.

Footage aired on local broadcaster Dawn News showed honking ambulances shifting the bodies and injured to the hospital. Blood-soaked caps, shoes and other belongings apart from pieces of broken glasses and wooden doors were scattered around the scene.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, however Taliban and Baloch separatists have long been targeting the security forces in the region.
