4 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza

Israel carries out artillery shelling overnight in several areas across war-devastated Gaza

By Ahmed Asmar

At least four Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Thursday.

In Khan Younis, an airstrike on a tent for displaced people left two people dead and several others injured in Al-Qarara town, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

A child was also killed in the Al-Fukhari area, Khan Younis, as a result of Israeli artillery shelling.

The news agency also reported that one more Palestinian was killed in an Israeli strike on a tent for the displaced people in the central Gaza Strip.

It added that Israel carried out artillery shelling overnight in several areas across Gaza, including the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, eastern Gaza City, and northern Gaza's Beit Lahia town.

The Israeli army renewed a deadly assault on Gaza on March 18 and has since killed nearly 1,500 people, injured 3,700 others, and shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in the enclave that was signed in January.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed last week to escalate attacks on Gaza as efforts are underway to implement US President Donald Trump's plan to displace Palestinians from the enclave.

More than 50,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
