BEIRUT (AA) – At least five people were injured Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on the city of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.
The airstrike destroyed the residential building they were occupying in the Al-Mashaa neighborhood and caused damage to several surrounding houses and cars, eyewitnesses told Anadolu.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the airstrike was carried out by Israeli warplanes with two air-to-ground missiles.
Nabatieh is located around 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the border with Israel.
Tensions have risen along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between the Lebanese group Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 37,700 people since last October following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
