5 PKK terror suspects detained in southeastern Turkey

BATMAN, Turkey (AA) – Security forces detained five people in southeastern Turkey for their alleged links to the PKK terror group, a local authority said on Wednesday.

According to a written statement by the Batman Governorship, the local gendarmerie arrested two suspects accused of providing financial aid and equipment for the PKK/KCK.

In another operation in the province, three more suspects were arrested for allegedly spreading PKK propaganda on social media.

During the operation, security forces seized a fake identity card, pieces of rag symbolizing the terror group, banned publications, and documents related to the organization.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
