7 PKK terrorists neutralized in Turkiye’s Eren Abluka operations

ANKARA (AA) - A total of seven PKK terrorists have been neutralized so far in Turkiye’s Eren Abluka (Blockade) operations, according to the Interior Ministry.

The operations, which started on April 15, are being successfully carried out in the eastern provinces of Diyarbakir, Hakkari, Batman, Sirnak, Mardin and Tunceli, the ministry said in a statement.

Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to signify the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Moreover, at least 28 caves, 38 shelters and two warehouses used by PKK terrorists were destroyed, the statement added.

Turkish security forces also seized 10 infantry rifles, 223 hand grenades, two improvised explosive devices, over a ton of explosive material, 36 mag guns, 633 infantry rifle ammunition and 12 rocket launcher ammunition.

Turkiye initiated the Eren operations last year, named after Eren Bulbul, a 15-year-old boy killed by the PKK terror group on Aug. 11, 2017.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkiye, the US and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
