8 Palestinians injured by Israeli army fire in West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli army fire on Tuesday during a military raid in the occupied West Bank, according to the Health Ministry.

Israeli forces raided the Jenin refugee camp, triggering clashes with local residents, the official Palestine Voice radio station reported.

Israeli forces used live fire as they advanced into the camp and laid a siege around a number of houses, the broadcaster said.

A Health Ministry statement said eight people were injured, including an elderly woman and a paramedic.

There was no comment yet from the Israeli army on the report.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank in recent months amid repeated Israeli raids into Palestinian towns.

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of this year, according to Palestinian figures. Sixteen Israelis have also been killed in separate attacks during the same period.
