About 4,000 register for Istanbul int’l swimming race

ISTANBUL (AA) - About 4,000 people have registered for the 31st edition of the Samsung Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Race in July.

In a statement, the Turkish National Olympic Committee said 1,200 foreigners from 51 countries will swim from the Asian side of Istanbul to the European side on July 21.

According to the statement, about 3,000 Turkish swimmers registered for the race but only 1,200 of them would be selected, following qualifying races in May and June.
