Afghan forces thwart attack on training center in Kabul
3 militants killed in hours-long gunfight

KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) - Afghan forces killed three pro-Daesh militants on Monday thwarting an attack on a training center run by the country's spy agency, officials said.
A huge blast followed gunfire in Afshar area on the outskirts of the capital Kabul near a training facility of the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
Special units of the Afghan National Police reached the site to engage in a three-hour-long battle with the attackers who were shooting from inside a building under-construction.
Nasrat Rahimi, the deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry, told Anadolu Agency that all three attackers have been killed and two policemen have sustained minor injuries.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack via their Amaq news agency.
In October, a Taliban attack on the Marshal Fahim National Defense University in the same area killed 15 Afghan army cadets.
