LILONGWE, Malawi (AA) - African heads of state and government have arrived in Angola's capital, Luanda, for the 17th edition of the 2025 US-Africa Business Summit, which runs from Sunday to Thursday.
The summit's spokesperson, Jeronimo Pongolola, told reporters on Sunday that the 2,700 delegates include seven African presidents, six heads of government, 19 ministerial delegations, and six representatives from international and regional organizations.
The summit, titled "Paths to Prosperity: A Shared Vision for US-Africa Partnership," is co-organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and the government of Angola.
Its goal is to strengthen economic ties and explore new trade and investment opportunities.
The summit, Pongolola said, brings together government officials, CEOs, senior executives, investors, and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
“With a specific nod to the host country, the summit aims to showcase Africa’s growing economy and its efforts to attract foreign investment across key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, finance, and agriculture,” said Pongolola.
“The summit is also part of ongoing efforts to strengthen US-Africa commercial relations, focusing on key sectors and initiatives that drive sustainable development and economic growth,” he said.
