AI now on defense field as part of wargames
Project, led by UK university, to use AI in wargaming for 'best solutions,' says deputy vice chancellor of University of Lincoln

ISTANBUL (AA) - The UK's University of Lincoln will lead an artificial intelligence project in defending the country.
It will lead a group of seven UK universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, focused on developing AI to assist the government and military in national security situations, such as terrorism and cyber threats.
AI will be used in wargaming with the goal of producing "the best solutions we can," the deputy vice chancellor of the university said.
"It will be used to understand our moves and an enemy's moves and maybe come to better decision-making," Julian Free said.
The UK Defense Ministry granted £1 million ($1.22 million) research contract for the project.
The wargames may also help shape the government's response to future national security challenges involving not only the military but also other services like the police.
These scenarios could include threats from hostile nations, economic disruptions, or environmental emergencies.
