Anadolu Agency celebrates 101st founding anniversary

Delegation lays wreath at mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founding father of Republic of Turkey

ANKARA (AA) - A delegation from Anadolu Agency on Tuesday laid a wreath at Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, as it celebrates its 101st anniversary.

"Great Leader Ataturk! Anadolu Agency, which was established to announce the true voice of the War of Independence to Anatolia and worldwide, is now 101 years old.

"Anadolu Agency, with its 86 offices across the country and 41 offices abroad, continues to be the voice of not only Anatolia but also of all oppressed world via 13 languages it publishes in and will continue to do so as long as the Republic of Turkey exists," Senol Kazanci, the agency's director-general, wrote in the book of commemoration at the mausoleum.

In a written statement, Kazanci also congratulated the agency's employees.

"After completing the centennial journey of Anadolu Agency, we are now celebrating our agency's 101st anniversary."

"'Turkey's Global News Agency started its journey in journalism with the National Struggle and continues to grow and expand its news network.

While we cope with the global pandemic, I would like to honor you, devoted colleagues, who every day reach out to 6,000 news outlets in the world in 13 languages, in the belief that we will reach even bigger achievements together," he said.
