ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s top news provider Anadolu Agency and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the state-run aid organization, have launched Monday an online training program for new generation journalism.
The two-day event will gather 25 media representatives from eight countries via video conferencing. The language of the training is Arabic.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Anadolu Agency News Academy Director Cihangir Isbilir said the agency is happy to share its 100-year experience in journalism with fellow journalists.
Stressing that traditional media is being taken over by new media, he called on participants to attend specialization training in different domains organized by Anadolu Agency.
Also speaking at the ceremony was Ugur Tanyeli, a senior TIKA official, who said that more than 700 media representatives in over 40 countries have participated in numerous training programs TIKA has organized.
"We are proud of our cooperation with Anadolu Agency, one of the rooted media outlets of Turkey in the fields of journalism training and communication studies."
Mehmet Ozturk, Anadolu Agency's foreign languages editor-in-chief, delivered the first lecture of the training program, and made a presentation on the agency's global operations.
With Anadolu Agency daily broadcasting in 13 different languages, Arabic is of particular importance among them, Ozturk said. He also added that the New Generation Journalism Training Program is essential to improve the journalistic tone.
