ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments around the world.

Türkiye neutralized Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi, the so-called leader of the Daesh/ISIS terrorist organization, during an operation in Syria on Saturday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced.

"The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) had been following the so-called leader of Daesh, codenamed Abu Hussein al-Qurayshi, for a long time.

Economist and former Finance Minister Santiago Pena from the right-wing Colorado Party won Paraguay´s presidential election Sunday, beating center-left opposition candidate Efrain Alegre.

Ankara carried out the evacuation of 124 more nationals from violence-hit Sudan, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said early Monday.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is sending his humanitarian affairs chief Martin Griffiths to Sudan immediately amid the “rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis” there, his office said Sunday.

Egypt and Japan called Sunday for a permanent cease-fire in Sudan amid clashes between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The largest Turkish tech event, TEKNOFEST, hosted more than one million visitors on Sunday, its fourth day.

"We showed once again that we are the world's largest technology festival with more than 1 million visitors," TEKNOFEST said in a statement.

Germany has confirmed the delivery of the second IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine.

In sports news, PSV Eindhoven defended their KNVB Cup (Dutch Cup) title by beating Ajax 3-2 on penalties Sunday, after the match ended 1-1.
