Ankara-based think tank holds cultural policies panel
Turkish capital hosts discussion on culture in Turkic world, cultural degeneration, relationship btw politics

ANKARA (AA) - Ankara-based think tank held a panel discussion on the Turkish cultural policies in Turkey’s capital Thursday.
Organized by the Institute of Strategic Thinking (SDE), the panel titled Strategic Thinking on Our Cultural Policies discussed the culture in Turkic world, production of Turkish cultural policies, relationship between politics and culture, and cultural degeneration in Turkey.
Speaking at the event, Mahir Unal, deputy chairman of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, said the culture is the discovery of daily life and is constantly produced in everyday life.
Strategy is a way of thinking and an intellectual activity rather than memorizing and planning, Unal said.
Also addressing the panel, M. Ocal Oguz, head of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, said talks between Turkey and UNESCO is ongoing to honor Turkish Language on an International Turkish Language Day.
The panel discussion was chaired by Dusen Kaseinov, the Secretary-General of International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
Academics, former deputy and representatives of NGOs were also attended the talks.
