ANKARA (AA) - A court in Ankara remanded in custody 38 people and released 9 others under judicial supervision Monday night in an ongoing probe into leaked secretly-taped footages involving opposition party figures since 2010.

In May 2010, former leader of Republican People's Party (CHP) had resigned after the video was leaked. Baykal is currently CHP's deputy from Antalya province. Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who was elected as party leader, continues as CHP head.

In total, police had detained 47 people in the case. Former national police intelligence chief Omer Altiparmak is among those jailed pending trial.

The investigation covers leaks of other videos as well, including secretly-taped footages of some former Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leaders.
