Anti-natalist ideology behind Palm Springs fertility clinic bombing, says FBI
Authorities identify suspect as Guy Edward Bartkus who reportedly opposed having children

ISTANBUL (AA) - The FBI has determined that Saturday's fatal car bombing outside a California fertility clinic was motivated by anti-natalist ideology, NBC News reported Sunday.
Investigators identified the suspect as Guy Edward Bartkus, 25, from Twentynine Palms, California, who allegedly expressed beliefs that no one should have children in social media posts and a 30-minute audio recording.
Senior law enforcement officials said they are still verifying these materials, which they believe reveal the motive behind the attack at American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic in Palm Springs.
Authorities are also examining a YouTube account linked to Bartkus featuring homemade explosives experiments and an online forum post discussing suicide using explosives.
The explosion, which occurred in the clinic's parking lot, killed one person – believed to be Bartkus himself – and injured four others. The blast damaged multiple buildings within a 230-meter radius and was felt across the city.
FBI Assistant Director Akil Davis earlier characterized the bombing as "an intentional act of terrorism."
