Sudan has been embroiled in fighting between army and RSF since April

By Ahmed Asmar

ANKARA (AA) - The Arab Parliament on Sunday condemned the raid on the residence of the Tunisian ambassador to Khartoum.

The Cairo-based body called for the respect of the diplomatic missions and their buildings, and urged the Sudanese authorities to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and protection of the diplomatic missions in Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry also slammed the storming of its ambassador's residence in Khartoum by armed individuals.

"The attack is a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and a serious violation of the inviolability of the headquarters of diplomatic missions," the ministry said in a statement.

Several diplomatic missions were also subject to attacks and looting incidents since the break out of violence in Sudan in mid-April.

Sudan has been ravaged by fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 15. Nearly 1,000 civilians have been killed and thousands injured in the violence, according to local medics.
