Arabs living in Israel protest murder of veteran Palestinian journalist
Hundreds of people carrying Palestinian flags, banners stage demonstrations in various cities

JERUSALEM (AA) - Arabs living in Israel protested the killing of veteran Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh with demonstrations Wednesday in cities across the country.
Hundreds of people held demonstrations at two locations in the northern Israeli port city of Haifa, eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency.
Protesters carrying Palestinian flags and banners chanted slogans on Ben Gurion Street in Haifa condemning Abu Akleh’s murder.
The Arab 48 news website also reported that hundreds of demonstrators were protesting in the northern cities of Nazareth and Shefa-Amr.
Intense security measures were observed in the regions where the demonstrations were held.
The 51-year-old Al Jazeera correspondent was shot in the head while covering an Israeli military raid in the West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday morning. Another journalist, Ali Al-Samoudi, was shot in the back, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
