ANKARA (AA) – The Indian army said Friday night that an armed drone injured civilians in the Punjab province, according to an official statement.

It added the military “sighted” drones at 26 locations across Jammu and Kashmir and Bhuj city in the western state of Gujarat.

However, the Indian military statement did not specifically mention the origin of the drones.

It said civilians were injured due to an armed drone in Ferozpur area of the Punjab province.

According to the Press Trust of India: “Drone attacks on Srinagar airport, Awantipora air base (were) thwarted.”

Citing Indian military officials, the news agency reported: “Pakistani drones were sighted in Jammu, Samba and Pathankot tonight, and the Indian military is engaging them.”

The latest drone flights came amid a blackout in many parts of northern and western India as well as in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

Notably, Indian Defense Ministry said Pakistan had attempted to attack military installations in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur, which was neutralized.

Islamabad denied it had launched any such attacks.
