Arsenal, Barcelona, Union Berlin, Napoli secure 3 points each, stay atop table

ISTANBUL (AA) - Arsenal, Barcelona, Union Berlin, and Napoli tasted victory last week to top their leagues, while Paris Saint-Germain were held to a goalless draw.

English Premier League leaders Arsenal won their home match against Liverpool with a 3-2 score at the Emirates stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men remained at the top of the standings with 24 points, one point ahead of second-place Manchester City.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are in the 10th spot with 10 points.

Manchester United claimed a 2-1 win over Everton as Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench to score his 700th club goal. The Red Devils reached 15 points, placing fifth.

Their rivals, Manchester City, toppled Southampton with a 4-0 score, with the goals coming from Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, and Erling Haaland.

Haaland scored 15 Premier League goals in just nine matches, while in all competitions, the Norwegian striker has 20 under his belt.

Chelsea defeated Wolverhampton 3-0 to collect 16 points, with their new manager Graham Potter at the helm. The London club is on a three-game winning streak in all events, including the UEFA Champions League.

- La Liga

Barcelona remained at the top of La Liga on goal difference after clinching a narrow win over Celta Vigo on matchday eight.

Eder Militao's third-minute goal helped Real Madrid win against Getafe. Atletico Madrid beat Girona 2-1, while Athletic Bilbao drew 1-1 against Sevilla.

Barcelona and Real Madrid collected 22 points after eight matches so far. Third-place Athletic Bilbao have 17 points and fourth-place Atletico Madrid reached 16 points

- Serie A

In week nine of the Italian top tier, leaders Napoli hammered Cremonese 4-1 at an away game to extend their winning streak to the fifth game.

AC Milan defeated Juventus 2-0, while Fikayo Tomori and Brahim Diaz each scored for their team.

Collecting 23 points, Napoli topped the Serie A standings undefeated. Atalanta are second at two points behind Napoli, while Udinese are in the third spot with 20 points.

Inter Milan, who beat Sassuolu 2-1, are in the seventh spot with 15 points.

- Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at their home ground, Signal Iduna Park.

Bayer Leverkusen beat Schalke 04 4-0, while Bochum defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0.

Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin tasted a narrow victory over Stuttgart at the away game.

Union Berlin are top of the league with 20 points and Freiburg are in second place with 18 points.

Bayern Munich are in the third spot, while Borussia Dortmund are in fourth with 16 points

- Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain were held to a goalless draw over Reims as Spanish defender Sergio Ramos was shown a red card in the 41st minute at Stade Auguste-Delaune II.

The Parisians failed to score for the first time after 10 Ligue 1 games this season.

Ajaccio claimed a 2-1 away win over Olympique Marseille, while Lorient beat Brest with the same score on the road.

Despite the draw, Paris Saint-Germain are at the top of Ligue 1 with 26 points, a point ahead of second-place Lorient.

Olympique Marseille are in the third spot with 23 points.
