Asian markets close Tuesday mixed

ISTANBUL (AA) – With two of the six major Asian indices closed to transactions on Tuesday, the rest of the markets ended the day with mixed figures.

The Russia's war on Ukraine, inflationary concerns, and volatility in commodity markets cause uncertainties in markets and reduce the risk appetite.

Increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the Asia region have also impact on the markets.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was flat at 3,660 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange was up 51.51 points, or 0.19%, to end the day at 27,787 points.

The Indian Sensex benchmark was down 435.24 points, or 0.72%, to close at 60,176 points.

The Singapore index earned 28.04 points, or 0.82%, to rise to 3,445 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, and China's Shanghai Stock Exchange were closed due to a public holiday for the Ching Ming Festival on Tuesday.
