Asian stocks close Monday in red

Hang Seng dives 0.64%, Nikkei 225 down 1%

ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets closed Monday with losses.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, fell 0.65% to 3,627 points as of 1115GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 decreased 1% to close at 33,370 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, reversed from gains in the prior two sessions, diving 0.64% to 19,912 points.

Hong Kong’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 3% in the three months to May, above market forecasts of 2.8%.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange also slipped 0.54% to 3,255 points.

India's Sensex index lost 0.34% to close at 63,168 after the index closed at an all-time high in the previous session.

The Singapore index dropped 0.58% to end the day at 3,241 points.
