Asian stocks mixed at Wednesday’s close

Asia Dow, Japanese Nikkei, Chinese Shanghai, Indian Sensex post gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - Asian major stock markets closed Wednesday with mixed figures.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, earned 0.17% to 3,392.81 points as of 1131 GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 increased 0.57% to close at 28,082.70 points.

The producer price index was at 7.2% in Japan, according to official figures on Tuesday, below expectations in March, while machinery orders also exceeded in the month by increasing 9.8%.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, lost 0.86% to reach 20,309.86 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange was up by 0.41% to 3,327.18 and India's Sensex index rose 0.39% to close at 60,392.77.

The Singapore index dropped 0.36% to end the day at 3,286.12 points.
