At least 5 dead after shooting rampage at Austrian school: Reports

GENEVA (AA) - A shooting incident took place at a school in the Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday, leaving at least five people dead, according to the daily Krone.

Citing police sources, the daily reported that the perpetrator was a student at the school and is believed to have committed suicide. He is said to have entered two classrooms and opened fire.

According to the Kurier newspaper, the police have not ruled out the possibility of a second perpetrator.

It reported that one or more firearms were used in the attack.

The police in the Austrian state of Styria announced on X that an operation involving several task forces, including the Cobra special unit, was underway in Graz.

The police said they had been alerted because shots had been heard coming from the building.
