Attila Szalai joins Standard Liege on loan for rest of season

ISTANBUL (AA) - Attila Szalai moved to Standard Liege from TSG Hoffenheim on loan for the rest of the season Sunday.

"Standard de Liege, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Attila SZALAI have reached an agreement: the central defender is loaned to the banks of the Meuse until the end of this season and thus becomes our third winter recruit," Standard Liege said in a statement.

Szalai, 26, previously played for Apollon Limassol, Fenerbahce, TSG Hoffenheim and SC Freiburg.

He scored two goals in 46 games for Hungary.

Hungarian defender helped the Istanbul club win the 2022-23 Turkish Cup.
