Azerbaijan, UAE discuss bilateral relations, cooperation

ISTANBUL (AA) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and United Arab Emirates Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi discussed the development of bilateral relations and cooperation on Tuesday.

“During the conversation, the sides emphasized that the existence of sincere and friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries was important for the development of bilateral relations,” said a statement by the Azerbaijani presidency.

Aliyev pointed out his friendly relations with the UAE leadership and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries during the meeting, it added.

“Stating that cooperation in the field of renewable energy had been expanded on the basis of a very good level of bilateral relations, the head of state mentioned the investment project of Masdar, one of the leading companies of the UAE, in Azerbaijan,” the statement further said.

It added that Aliyev and Al Gergawi also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
