Azerbaijani military chief begins official visit to Slovakia
Countries' army chiefs discuss future of bilateral military cooperation, exchange views on issues of mutual concern

ISTANBUL (AA) – Col. Gen. Karim Valiyev, the Azerbaijani Army chief of General Staff, on Wednesday began an official visit to Slovakia at the invitation of his Slovak counterpart Gen. Daniel Zmeko, according to Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.
An official welcoming ceremony was held for the Azerbaijani delegation on the first day of the visit.
During his meeting with Zmeko, Valiyev discussed the future of bilateral military cooperation and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Valiyev also held talks with Slovak Deputy Defense Minister Martin Vojtasovic. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in defense, military/technical fields, and military education.
The Azerbaijani military official’s trip highlights efforts by Baku and Bratislava to deepen defense ties as part of broader regional security engagement.
