Beatrice Chebet of Kenya sets world record in 5000 meters in under 14 minutes
Chebet breaks tape in 13 minutes, 58.06 seconds

Two-time Olympic champion Chebet of Kenya became the first woman to run the 5000 meters in less than 14 minutes Saturday, breaking the world record in a time of 13 minutes, 58.06 seconds, at the Prefontaine Classic.
Chebet, who broke the world record in the 10,000 meters last year, was closely followed by Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay and Kenyan Agnes Jebet Ngetich for most of the race.
Toward the end of the race, Chebet, Tsegay and Ngetich pulled ahead, leaving the pack of runners.
Chebet improved on Tsegay's world record by 2.15 seconds, while Ngetich finished second in a time of 14:01.29. Tsegay was third with a time of 14:04.41.
The Prefontaine Classic in the state of Oregon is the only US stop on the Diamond League track and field series.
