Beijing says it opposes Japan’s move to place Chinese entities on export control list

ISTANBUL (AA) - China said on Monday that it opposes Japan's move to place Chinese entities on its export control list, urging Tokyo to stop this practice at once.

Remarks from a Commerce Ministry spokesperson came after Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry updated its export-control "End User List," with multiple Chinese companies added and two removed, according to Xinhua News.

Japan has “unreasonably” placed the Chinese companies on the list without any “factual basis,” the spokesperson said, adding that China “firmly rejects” the move that will harm the interests of businesses in both countries.

On the removal of the two Chinese companies from the list, the spokesperson noted that China welcomed this move as it “aligns with the common interests of both sides.”

"We are willing to step up communication with Japan to facilitate the removal of more Chinese enterprises," the spokesperson added.
