Belarusian president pardons 25 prisoners on National Unity Day
Aleksandr Lukashenko grants presidential pardon to 12 women, 13 men, with 19 of them under age of 40, some of whom have many children

MOSCOW (AA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko decided on Tuesday to pardon 25 people convicted of various crimes, including those with extremist motives.
The corresponding decree was posted on the presidential website, with the note that the decision was made on the occasion of the Day of National Unity.
The pardoned individuals include 12 women and 13 men, with 19 of them under the age of 40.
Many pardoned people have children; one of the convicts is a mother with several children. One of the pardoned committed a crime while still a minor.
"All of them admitted their guilt, repented, and took an obligation to lead law-abiding lives," the decree said.
