Bill introduced in Russian parliament to amend citizenship law
Facilitated procedure to be available to foreigners after signing 1-year military service during 'special military operation'

MOSCOW (AA) - Foreigners in Russia can obtain citizenship after signing a one-year military service contract during the "special military operation" in Ukraine, according to an amendment bill introduced in the lower house of parliament on Tuesday.
The relevant bill was published on the website of Russia's lower chamber, or the State Duma.
The facilitated procedure will be available to foreigners who signed contracts for at least one year and members of their families, including parents and children, even if they are adopted.
The amendment has to be approved by both chambers of the Russian parliament and the head of state to come into force.
