Bomb blasts kill 4 in Iraqi capital
Iraqi authorities often blame Daesh terror group for the attacks
By Ibrahim Salih
BAGHDAD (AA) – Four people were killed and 16 others injured in a spate of bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Wednesday.
A device exploded at a convoy of fighters of the Shia Hashd al-Shaabi militia in southern Baghdad, Iraqi police officer Hassan al-Noufal told Anadolu Agency.
“One militiaman was killed and five others were injured in the attack,” he said.
A bomb explosion killed two civilians and injured 11 others in northern Baghdad, al-Noufal said.
One person was also killed in another bomb blast in eastern Baghdad, he added.
There has been no claim of responsibility for Wednesday’s attacks, though Iraqi authorities often point the finger at Daesh terrorist group, which overran vast territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
According to UN estimates, at least 2,119 people were killed in violence across Iraq in June.
