ISTANBUL (AA) - Several Russian airlines reported disruptions to check-in and ticketing operations on Monday due to a failure in the Leonardo booking system, with airports warning of possible delays, according to local media.
The outage affected major carriers, including Aeroflot, as well as several other Russian airlines and the Belarusian carrier Belavia.
The system failure temporarily restricted passenger and baggage check-in, ticket issuance, and refunds, as well as the purchase of additional services. All sales channels were affected, including airlines’ official websites, contact centers, and agent networks.
“Due to a global disruption in the Leonardo (Sirena-Travel) booking system, passenger and baggage check-in, ticket issuance, reissuance and refunds are temporarily restricted across all airline sales channels,” Aeroflot said, warning that schedule changes may occur.
Similar notices were issued by other Russian airlines, including Rossiya, Pobeda, and Azur Air, highlighting the widespread impact of the disruption. Pobeda said its airport check-in system is currently operating in manual mode.
The outage was reported on Monday afternoon, with airlines advising passengers to expect possible delays and changes to flight schedules.
