Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,450.87 points on Friday, rising 0.16% or 2.35 points from the previous close.

At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.33% to 1,448.52 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.3946 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), versus 8.3960 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 9.8786 from 9.8980.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $71.08 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
