Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,554.76 points on Friday, rising 0.45%, or 11.55 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.21% to close at 2,543.21 points on Thursday, with a daily trading volume of over 31 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 17.3664 as of 10.06 a.m. local time (0706GMT) for a daily gain of 0.08%.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.2911 with a 0.16% daily rise, while a British pound traded for 21.3017 Turkish liras – up 0.13%.

The price of Brent crude oil was at $109.97 per barrel with a 0.07% decline, while the price of gold was up 0.07% to $1,824 per ounce.
