Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

BIST 100 index gains over 7 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,550.67 points on Friday, up 0.29%, or 7.33 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.03% to end Thursday at 2,543.33 points, with a daily trading volume of over 31.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.9323 as of 10.06 a.m. local time (0706GMT), from 17.9040 at the last close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 18.3679 versus 18.1610, while a British pound traded for 21.9286 Turkish liras, up from 21.7880.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.96% at $102.78 per barrel.
