Borsa Istanbul up at midweek's open

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 3,997.96 points on Wednesday, up 0.58%, or 22.95 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 0.06% to close Tuesday at 3,975.01 points, with a daily trading volume of 83 billion Turkish liras ($4.46 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6104 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.5761, and a British pound traded for 21.3640 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.1 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,669.30.
