Borsa Istanbul up at weekly opening

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 14,092.16 points, increasing by 1.13% or 158.11 points.

On Friday, the BIST 100 was up by 0.94% to 13,934.06 points at Friday's close, with a daily transaction volume of 171 billion liras ($3.9 billion).

As of 10.25 am local time (0725GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.8330 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.8700 to the euro, and 59.3400 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,142.05, while Brent crude oil was trading at $70.6 per barrel.
