Brunei Darussalam's sultan to visit Türkiye for talks

ANKARA (AA) - Brunei Darussalam's sultan will begin an official four-day visit to Türkiye Monday, according to the Turkish Communications Directorate.

"All aspects of the Türkiye-Brunei Darussalam relations will be discussed, and joint steps aimed at enhancing the cooperation between the two countries will be addressed during the official talks to be held in Ankara on Tuesday," the directorate said in a statement before the visit by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah

He and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who wil welcome him in the capital Ankara on Tuesday, will also exchange views on current regional and international issues.

The leaders are expected to sign several agreements to contribute to the contractual basis of the bilateral ties.

Türkiye established diplomatic relations with Brunei Darussalam on Jan. 1, 1984.
