Canada advises its citizens to avoid traveling Israel, West Bank

ISTANBUL (AA) – Canada advised its citizens Friday to avoid “all travel” to Israel and the West Bank regions due to the “heightened risk of attack on Israeli territory.”

“The regional security situation remains highly volatile & could escalate without notice,” Foreign Minister Melanie Joly wrote on X. “We have increased our risk level to ‘avoid all travel’ to Israel+West Bank.”

Joly urged Canadians to consider commercial options for departure.

It came after the Austrian Foreign Ministry echoed Germany’s call earlier by advising its nationals to leave Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
