Car bomb in Mogadishu kills at least 5

By Hassan IstiilaMOGADISHU, Somalia (AA)- At last five people have been killed and about 10 injured in a car bomb blast in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Sunday.The car blew up near a police station in Mogadishu's southwestern waberi neighborhood, according to Ahmed Arab, spokesman for Somalia's Security Ministry.“Most of the people who were killed in this explosion were civilian [...],” he added.No group has claimed responsibility, although al-Shabaab militants have been linked to similar attacks in the past.Troops from the African Union forced al-Shabaab militants out of Mogadishu in 2011, but the militants remain powerful in several rural areas.
